I met Abby and Connor over 2 years ago when capturing her lovely sister, Ashley's wedding in July 2016. It was a small wedding and I had the chance to mingle and get to know the family. They were all so sweet and welcoming. Abby and Connor's relationship was somewhat new at that time but he already had the superhero designation from the family because of how helpful and fun he was during Ashley's wedding.
Post wedding, the two headed back to Texas not knowing they were going to have the opportunity to rejoin some family. Fast forward to early 2018, Connor gets a great job offer in Chicago, the two move north and Connor pops THE question all in a matter of months. Of course she said YES!! I was lucky enough to be invited to capture their wedding too! I am so excited to see this all come full circle.
For Abby and Connor's engagement session, we wanted to wander their neighborhood which is conveniently located near Lincoln Park. We were also "lucky" to have snow... then eventually freezing rain. I was greeted at the couple's apartment with, what else, a Nespresso. I do recall Abby talking a lot about Italy and her love for espresso during her sister's wedding. Her family bought her very own machine for her birthday (mostly to keep her quiet). I do share her sentiment. I also learned that Connor is very particular about his hair and hates lint. They packed a lint roller for our walk haha!
We had a great session with a perfectly timed break at Theater on the Lake for a drink to warm up before hitting the lakefront, almost getting taken out by a wave and eventually getting frozen by the freezing rain and 20mph winds.
